International Compliance and Export Management Policy
UAMS is committed to compliance with US export control laws, and other US laws and regulations relating to international matters, including those that pertain to the conduct and dissemination of our research and to the export of tangible items such as equipment, components, or materials.

Approval and Disclosure of Certain International Activities and Undue Foreign Influence
UAMS supports the ability of researchers and scholars to communicate, exchange ideas, and collaborate with the brightest minds around the world. Pursuant to Administrative Guide 4.4.26, UAMS personnel must seek prior approval prior to engaging in certain international activities. These activities include:
- Establishing a research laboratory outside the United States;
- Engaging in research physically located at a non-US institution;
- Entering into a written agreement with a foreign entity that provides for the exchange of money, items, data, intellectual property, research collaboration, or any proprietary information;
- Entering into a Foreign Government Talent Recruitment Program; and
- Entering into any written agreement with a foreign entity that does not constitute an agreement with UAMS and is entered into in the employee’s individual capacity and to which UAMS is not a party.
